Ontario Hockey Academy (9) vs Mount Academy (1) East U18
It took just over a minute for Mount Academy to hit the scoreboard thanks to Bryson Robinson. However, this would go on to be Mount’s only tally of the contest. After one, OHA would find themselves in the lead up 2-1. Danny Kanaga (2G, 1A) would open the second with a quick pair of goals before OHA further imposed their offensive prowess. OHA would eventually take the game 9-1 with Kanaga and Max Patenaude (2G) each netting a pair of goals.
St. Mary’s High School (4) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (6) U15 Prep
Whatever PCHA had in their breakfast this morning… they may want to have again the next time an early puck drop comes around the corner, as they spouted off for four unanswered goals in the first period. This handful of early goals would go on to be the difference maker on the final score as PCHA took this one a score of 6-4. Cole Gann (2G) walked away with a pair of goals while Sidney, BC’s Jackson Squire (1G, 2A) contributed on three PCHA goals.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (4) vs BWC Academy (9) U15 Prep
A busy first period saw seven goals between both teams, with BWC Academy netting five of those. RHA Winnipeg would cut to within one in the second but a strong end to the frame from BWC Academy restored their three goal cushion. In the end, Logan Henry (2G), Kane Nicholas (2G, 1A) and Haydn Goetzinger (2G) each nabbed a pair for BWC Academy in the victory.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (1) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (5) U15 Prep
Despite only being granted a single powerplay opportunity, NAX’s offence had little to no struggle finding chances at even strength or shorthanded. Ultimately outshooting OHA 63-15, NAX would net five even strength goals. Kalen Miles (1G, 2A) led the charge with a three point outing. Roman Haddad would score the lone goal for OHA in the loss while Brayden Unruh (58/63) made a respectable 58-saves across sixty minutes.
CIH Academy (2) vs Fort Erie International Academy (6) East U17
After a scoreless first, FEIA’s special teams went to town in the second. It all started with a powerplay goal from Jena-Theo Mundele and a rapid goal just six seconds later from Spencer Garzon (1G, 1A) as the period trickled to a close, FEIA would net two shorties thanks to the efforts of Thomas Harvey (1G, 1A) and Joel Thompson (2G, 1A). Liam Bosum would get CIH on the board with a powerplay marker in the third but was matched just 27-seconds later by Travis McDougall, thwarting CIH’s comeback dreams. Felix-Antoine Tessier (24/26) would waltz away with the win for FEIA, making 24-saves in the process.
Yale Hockey Academy (3) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
Maxx Trites scored the game’s first goal 8:19 into the first period. Chase Pouchnik scored the lone second period goal 1:23 in to level the score going into the third. Dylan Johnson gave CDA their first lead 2:02 into the final period before Seth Castronuovo (2G) scored two goals in less than 10 minutes to put Yale ahead. Jason Ho (34/36) finished with 34 saves, including 13 in the third, to give Yale the 3-2 win.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs Shawnigan Lake School (1) U17 Prep
Okanagan came out the gates flying in the first, recording three unanswered in the first to establish a cushion. Landon Nagle (1G, 2A) and Cache Thomas would trade goals early in the second for OHA took off for another two goals off the sticks of Jacob Leamy (2G) and Maxx Parfitt. Scoring would take a hiatus in the third as Linden Sobocan (25/26) would rack up an extra 9-saves to ensure the strong OHA Sunday victory.
Notre Dame (5) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (6/OT) U18 Prep
Notre Dame would come out with the lead through twenty as Ben Bugeuad (2G) scored late in the frame. Asher Gingras would respond early in the second for PMHA, but a shorthanded tally from Kane Morhart and another from Bugeaud restored Notre Dame’s lead. However, Pilot Mound would finish the frame off strong as Austin Polonoski (2G, 1A) and Jaden Mah (1G, 1A) tied everything back up. William Picklyk (1G, 2A) would net his eighth of the season early in the third to give PMHA their first lead of the game. However, Notre Dame wouldn’t show any quit as Callum Biers (2G) responded on the powerplay just under five minutes later. Overtime was eventually needed where Briggs Olson (1G, 4A) would net the game winner, wrapping his contest up with five-points.
BWC Academy (5) vs Delta Hockey Academy Black (3) U15
A total of three powerplay and shorthanded goals were split between BWC Academy and Delta Black in a Sunday showdown in Delta. Nathan DaSilva and Eric Prexler (2G) each grabbed an early pair for BWC Academy before Jake Gagno nets the games first shorty for DHA Black. However, the two shorthanded goals from BWC Academy in the second would prove to be the difference makers in this matchup as Theo Falk (1G, 2A) and Anthony Boffo bumped their lead up to 4-2 through forty. Josh Racic and Prexler would each net powerplay goals in the third, keeping this game at a two goal spread as BWC Academy closed off their weekend with a win.
Indigenous Sports Academy (1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (9) U18 Prep
Coming off of a call up with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Brayden Ryan-Mackay (1G, 1A) gifted SAHA the early lead. SAHA would net another two before the end of the first. Darryl McKenzie would net one back for ISA at the start of the second but SAHA kept pouring on the offence. Tyden Lafournaise (2G) would even go on to score on a penalty shot. SAHA closed out the third with another four unanswered as they closed out their weekend with a big win on home ice.
Prairie Hockey Academy (5) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U18 Prep
As two of the Prairie divisions top contenders met in Winnipeg, PHA would start off on the right foot, scoring twice in the opening frame thanks to efforts from Rylan Emigh (1G, 1A) and Kale Pratte (1G, 1A) Hubert Larose would add another to PHA’s lead on the powerplay but his goal was matched by Cohen Lewko late in the frame. River Arnason dragged RHA Winnipeg to within one early in the third but PHA’s consistency reigned superior as Benson Hirst (1G, 1A) and Reid Fraser closed out a 5-2 score. Cameron Beisal (24/26) made a respectable 24-saves in the W.
OHA Edmonton (5) vs St. George’s School (3) U15 Prep
Sutton Hodgetts got OHA Edmonton rolling with the lone goal in the first, but the second period powerplay proficiency of OHA Edmonton put this game to bed. Artello Forestal (3G, 1A) would capitalise twice on the powerplay, granting OHA Edmonton a two goal lead into the third. Tucker Porter and Forestal would add another two to OHA Edmonton’s lead early on, disrupting St. George’s chances at a comeback despite their two goal push in the late stages of the game. Owen Amyotte (30/33) made 30-saves in the win.
Shawnigan Lake School (6) vs North Shore Warriors (5) U15 Prep
Sunday’s tangle between Shawnigan and North Shore was a steady back and forth affair. Things were close to being tied through forty, but Chase Muragtroyd (2G) would put Shawnigan ahead before the ice clean. The third period would see a handful of action. Shawnigan and NSW would go back and forth, scoring three a piece, with the ultimate deciding goal still being Murgatroyd’s late second period tally. Darwin Ketch (2G) and Lucas Partridge-Mather (2G, 1A) would each net two for Shawnigan as well while Berkeley Walter (24/29) picked up the win between the pipes.
Edge School (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (0) U15 Prep
Edge and RHA Kelowna were kept tightly knit in this contest. The first goal wouldn’t come until the late stages of the first where Keagan Grant (1G, 1A) netted his seventh of the season. Scoring would take a hiatus in the second but would return in Edge’s favour for the third as Ethan Parkinson (1G, 1A) and Luke Huska (1G, 1A) netted the extra insurance in the win. Delano Pockar (34/34) picked up his first shutout on the campaign, making 34-saves in the process.
Yale Hockey Academy (3) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (4) U18 Prep
First period goals by Evan Cook and Shaun Hildebrandt saw Yale grab a 2-0 lead. Caden Stoltz (2G, 2A) got CDA on the board 1:09 into the second but Jayden Oleskiw (1G, 1A) restored the two goal lead 2:26 later. Stoltz and Aleksandr Skuratov scored five minutes apart late in the second period to tie the game heading into the final 20. In the third Ian Dalton picked the perfect time to score his first of the season as he put CDA ahead 4-3. Bennett Byers (38/41) would make nine third period saves as Coeur d’Alene held on for the 4-3 win.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (6) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (1) U18 Prep
Charlie Grant (1G, 3A) opened the scoring late in the first period as OHA led 1-0. Tucker Robertson (2G, 1A) extended the lead 27 seconds into the second and David Aggen (1G, 1A) added his first of the season midway through the period. Robertson and Maxwell Hoey traded goals in the third as PCHA found themselves on the board, but down three, 8:55 into the third. Bradley Schmidt (2G) scored twice in the final six minutes to put the game out of reach and secure the OHA victory. Chayse Johnson (49/50) made 49 saves against his former team.
STAR Hockey Academy (3) vs BWC Academy (4) U17 Prep
Declan Iacoviello (1G, 1A) scored his fourth goal of the season as BWC Academy led 1-0 after 20. Anderson Carter tied the game 1:09 into the second and a shorthanded goal by Kyler Bush midway through the period put STAR ahead. Kayden Pratt (2G) tied the game late in the period but Zachary Schmidt scored a power play goal early in the third to restore the STAR lead. BWC Academy wouldn’t go away quietly as they fired 16 third period shots at Sam Trnecka (34/38), with Oleksii Zhekov and Pratt beating him 1:42 apart to put BWC Academy ahead. Jeevin Sandhu (23/26) closed the door the rest of the way to secure the 4-3 win for the seventh ranked BWC Academy.
St. George’s School (7) vs Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy (2) U17 Prep
Byron Chin (1G, 1A) scored 55 seconds in to set the tone in what ended as a 7-2 St. George’s win. Aaron Catro (1G, 2A), Cameron Dhaliwal, Jason Gao (2G) Josh Gravistin (1G, 1A) and Shay Soo scored the other goals for St. George’s in the win. Torrin Cotter and Sean Strasser scored the Wenatchee goals, beating Mathias Dishneau (26/28) early in the second period.
North Shore Warriors (3/SO) vs Delta Hockey Academy (2) U18 Prep
After a scoreless first period Cruz Waltze gave Delta the lead 2:06 into the second. Defenseman Liam Kilfoil tied the game midway through the second with his third goal of the season. Noah Friskie gave North Shore their first lead 50 seconds into the final period before Noah Hoglund forced OT with under five minutes to play. After Georgi Milanov (29/31) and Ashton Thornton (42/44) kept clean sheets in overtime, Jonathan Lee and Matteo Paradiso both scored in the shootout to give North Shore the 3-2 win.
RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (9) vs Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (0) Female U18 Prep
RHA Winnipeg fired 64 shots at Rehn Hall (55/64) and Maggie Schell (18/18) recorded an 18 save shutout in a 9-0 win. Rowyn Street (3G) recorded a hat-trick, Ava Hrubeniuk (1G, 3A) led all skaters with four points and Payton Chornley (3A) and Shea Warnick (3A) both had three assists in the win.
Notre Dame (3) vs RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (2) U17
Notre Dame (1-7-0) earned their first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over RHA Winnipeg (4-5-0) Sunday morning. Notre Dame was backed by a 48 save performance from Nathan Thompson (48/50), though they did fall behind 1-0 after 20 as Riley Bullion scored a power play goal for RHA Winnipeg. Ryder Pisiak scored the lone second period goal to equal the score at 1-1. Casey Mitschke restored the RHA Winnipeg lead 1:11 into the third but Joe Wakabyashi tied the game just 41 seconds later. Jacob Bate would score with 3:36 remaining to give Notre Dame their first lead of the game, and first win of the year.
Notre Dame (2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (9) U15 Prep
Delta scored early and often in a 9-2 win over Notre Dame. Peter Banicevic (4G, 1A) and defenseman Owen Ostrinski (1G, 4A) led the Delta offence with five points each. Tripp Fischer (1G, 3A) and Nicolas Peach (2G, 2A) chipped in with four points in the win. Davian Ferland and Ryder Fiddler scored for Notre Dame in the loss.
Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (4) vs Yale Hockey Academy (5) U15 Prep
Despite the lopsided shot clock it would take a late power play goal from Tanner Massey (2G) to give Yale the 5-4 win over Pilot Mound. Matteo Zenone (1G, 1A) opened the scoring for Yale before Brock Vodden (1G, 1A) and Felix Huberdeau put Pilot Mound ahead. Dominic Ponte tied the game just 18 seconds later but PMHA would get a late first period power play goal from Cole Landreville (1G, 1A) to put them ahead going into the second. Tony Cabelka and Massey scored 2:20 apart midway through the second as Yale grabbed a 4-3 lead. Kai Dingwall tied the game with 30 seconds remaining in the third before the Massey power play goal with 2:02 left gave Yale the 5-4 win in a game in which they outshot PMHA 62-18.
Okanagan Hockey Academy (4) vs North Shore Warriors (1) Female U18 Prep
Despite being outshot 17-4 in the first North Shore led 1-0 after Camille Birch scored her second goal of the season with 36 seconds left in the period. Makenna Brassard tied the game 2:51 into the second and Marin Deadmarsh put OHA ahead midway through the period. OHA kept the pressure on in the third as Emma Deleurme and Jada Wood found the back of the net to extend the lead to 4-1. Jorja Moore (16/17) made 16 saves for her fourth win of the season.
Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (10) vs RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (2) U15
Austin Schultz scored a power play marker as RHA Kelowna led 1-0 5:23 in but it was all PCHA from there as they grabbed a convincing 10-2 win. Liam Hussey (1G, 3A), Ben Kernan (1G, 3A) and Brayden Lindsay (2G, 2A) all had four point games to pace the offence. Jace Zemanek (30/32) made 30 saves to record the win, the first for Pacific Coast this season.
Ulysse Academie (5) vs Okanagan Hockey Ontario (3) East U18
Cedrick Fortin scored a power play goal late in the first and Philippe Lepore added another power play goal 2:14 into the second as Ulysse grabbed a 2-0 lead. Anthony Macaluso got OHO on the board 1:43 later and Alex Brown recorded a power play goal of his own 10 minutes later to equal the score. David Allaire (1G, 2A) and Marco Campo (1G, 1A) scored back-to-back goals to start the third as Ulysse jumped ahead 4-2. OHO made a late push as Tom Boudet scored with 1:16 remaining but Arnaud Roberge scored an empty net goal with 46 seconds left to secure the Ulysse victory.
RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna (8) vs Coeur d’Alene Hockey Academy (0) U17
Spearheaded by two shorthanded goals and two power play goals, RHA Kelowna defeated CDA 8-0. Aiden Andrews (2G, 2A) and Maximilian Koppel (2G) each scored twice while Mason Alexander (3A) and Zander Zorn (1G, 2A) had three point games. William Stewart (13/13) made 13 saves for the shutout.
Delta Hockey Academy (3) vs Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (2) U17
Pacific Coast led 1-0 after 20 as Rhys Wilcox scored his ninth goal of the season. Logan Pankhurst (2G) and Kaydin Halladay (1G, 1A) each scored in the first five minutes of the second as Delta led heading into the third period. Lukas Needham tied the game 7:38 into the final period but Pankhurst found the back of the net for the second time of the day with 1:28 remaining to give Delta the 3-2 win.
Yale Hockey Academy (10) vs STAR Hockey Academy (4) U15
Carter Di Stefano (4G) scored four goals while Max Ritchey (2G, 1A) and Jacob White (2G, 1A) each scored twice as Yale defeated STAR 10-4. Despite the loss Olan Ward (1G, 2A) recorded three points for STAR. Logan Hwang (24/28) and Cameron Rusyniak (31/41) were in net for their respective teams.
Bishop’s College School (3/OT) vs Ontario Hockey Academy (2) East U17
Bishop’s led 1-0 after just 2:50 of play as Jayden Dyke scored his second goal of the season. Noah Brewer evened the score with 22 seconds left in the period and Jonathan Benchlouch scored a power play goal 2:00 into the second as OHA pulled ahead. Gavin Rusenstrom tied the game midway through the third period to force overtime. Taitt Dobbin scored his fifth goal of the season one minute into overtime to give Bishop’s the 3-2 win and run their record to 5-1-0. Egor Oganesyan (24/26) and Mathis Bernier (48/51) were in net for their respective teams.
Northern Alberta Xtreme (9) vs OHA Edmonton (3) U15
OHA Edmonton opened the scoring 15:38 in as Lane Huscroft scored his first goal of the season. Gavin Van Brabant (2G, 1A) countered for NAX 1:14 later as the first ended tied 1-1. Ian Kim (2G) restored the OHA Edmonton lead midway through the second before Jett Evans (1G, 2A), Logan Schoettler, Emmett Abel (1G, 1A) and Erik Miller rattled off four straight for NAX. Kim would halt the run late in the second and bring his team within two going into the third. For the second straight period NAX would score four straight with Easton Mattersdorfer (1G, 3A), Keatyn Devlin, Brady Bisaillon and Van Brabant all found the back of the net as NAX ran away with a 9-3 win.
Delta Hockey Academy White (8) vs St. George’s School (3) U15
Delta White put up 89 shots as they defeated St. George’s 9-3 Sunday. Delta White started with five straight goals to grab control of the hockey game. Carson Brown (2G, 2A) and Colby Walker (2G) each scored twice while Jake Dunlop (2A), Reid Dutschek (2A), Yoo Joon Kim (2A) and Ryan Pickell (2A) recorded two assists. Minsoo Lee (2G) and Gavin Panaich (1G, 1A) scored for St. George’s in the loss.
